Male Liposuction – Gynecomastia

Competition, male ego and pride: these are all things that will drive a man to think about plastic surgery. The general appearance of a man sometimes will cause a man to lose his self confidence and be the center of many jokes. So more and more men are turning to plastic surgery as a means of improving their looks. The thought of women drooling over them and to be ahead of a group of men who meet regularly to talk about “guy things,” will push some men to change their appearance by any means necessary without regards to the dangers of surgeries.

What is Gynecomastia?
Another reason men are turning to liposuction is a condition called gynecomastia. Gynecomastia is a benign enlargement of the breast in men. Gynecomastia is the presence of a firm mass extending centrically from the man’s nipples. This condition is sometimes referred to as lipomastia. Liposuction will improve this condition and give the appearance of normality.  However, there are liposuction alternatives that can help.

Cosmetic Surgery
Cosmetic Surgery is defined as any surgery that changes or improves the person’s body to correct a physical feature or defect. Cosmetic surgery is normally thought of for women as they seek to eliminate all wrinkles, have their breast augmented or to make them larger and cosmetic surgery to remove damage from fires and accidents. Rarely does anyone think that men have the same desires. The desire to look like Tom Cruise or just to be in the best shape possible. Approximately 12 percent of all the liposuction surgeries being performed yearly are from men and the numbers are growing.

Surgery & Alternatives Are Not A Replacement For Healthy Living!

Are Pills the Replacement for a Healthy Diet and Exercise?

Are Pills the Replacement for a Healthy Diet and Exercise?

The number of weight loss products, surgeries, alternative liposuction procedures and therapies on the market is so vast it is easy for one to become overwhelmed. It is even easier for someone to become fooled into believing these services and products are designed to be replacements for a healthy lifestyle. This is not the case, in any instance. A physician will tell you the same – you cannot expect to lose weight and keep it off if you do not maintain a healthy diet and take part in frequent exercise.

Part of the reason it is so easy to fall into this trap is because there are so many products that advertise doing just that! ‘Eat what you want, no exercise required!’ These claims should draw caution instead of open wallets. These products may induce a level of dependency, an addiction. The ingredients are designed to increase the metabolism, and usually contain addictive stimulants such as caffeine. Years ago, these pills contained ephedrine (fake adrenaline) and amphetamine, two extremely dangerous and addictive drugs. Their availability on the widespread retail market resulted in a large number of deaths, and an even larger number of people suffering from heart, liver and kidney problems.

There are many reputable weight loss aids available today. Many of them have been approved by local government administrations and are safe. But it is important for potential clients to understand that the treatments, surgeries, injections, creams or pills cannot work by themselves. They are not designed to do so. Any program, service or product that is safe is designed to help make it easier to burn fat cells away with a healthy lifestyle.

By consulting with your physician prior to beginning any weight loss program, you can work to tailor a plan that will work to meet your goals. A qualified medical professional can tell you what can help you sculpt a particular area of your body, or refer you to a dietitian or physical therapist who can help you with this task. He or she can make recommendations based on your progress, and with their educated guidance, you’ll be sure to soon find the body you’ve always desired.

Gynecomastia

Many men consider their image to represent everything that they are.  Their image has everything to do with their self confidence and with their general appearance.  Losing their weight or fat often gives them more energy and a better outlook on the environments around them.  They often believe that they look greater in the eyes of women and when spending time with “the guys.”  This overall outlook on life that is changed through cosmetic surgery is often worth so much to males that it outweighs the risks of the surgeries.

Why Consider Liposuction

Another possible reason for a male to get liposuction is because of gynecomastia, or a buildup of fat cells or glandular tissue under the breast of a man.  This is something that men often are not comfortable with and having the procedure done can make them feel better about their appearance.

Cosmetic surgery is defined as any surgery that changes the way that a person’s body is altered to look different.  Everyone knows that there are a lot of women who get their breasts augmented to make them larger, or facial reconstruction for those who have been in accidents or burns.  When cosmetic surgery is mentioned people often do not associate it with male liposuction, which makes up approximately sixteen percent of the cosmetic surgeries done in the United States.  Ideally a male patient who is considering liposuction should be in a generally good state of health and emotional stability.  This usually ensures that the patient will keep off the fat that they lost through liposuction.

Before Considering Liposuction
Before considering liposuction you should be knowledgeable about the potential risks and about what you should realistically expect from the surgery.  Their medical practitioner and cosmetic surgeon should have a consultation and go over your history with you and cover the supplements and medications that are currently being used.  Doing this will make sure that the doctors don’t put you on something that could react badly.  Patients who have a history of illnesses or permanent conditions are won’t likely be considered as optimal candidate for the surgery.   Speaking with your doctor about the surgery is very important and will enable you to weight your pros and cons much more thoroughly.

Results
When getting liposuction done you will many times not even see the results immediately, this is often because of swelling after the surgery.  After swelling has gone down the different areas of their bodies will look tighter and younger.  This often will help the men to reach their goals of looking the way they want, leading to them feeling the way that they want too.  If you are considering liposuction as a male you should know that it is often more expensive than what a female would pay and that you may or may not be in optimal condition for the surgery.  You should talk with your doctor before the surgery becomes a viable option.
