Body Wraps as a Liposuction Alternative?

Useful ingredients to add to your body wrap

The body wrap produces a number of therapeutic and cosmetic benefits for those seeking natural alternatives to weight loss in the United Kingdom. The ideal of body wraps is to remove toxins from the body and thus make you look both younger and healthier.  It will clean the skin, restore minerals, soften the skin and reduce minor joint pains.  Many spas will do these body wraps, which typically last one hour for around $40, but you can do them in the comfort of your home for a fraction of the cost.  Before attempting to do a body wrap, you must take a warm shower before the procedure, to open the pores up.   Remember that these results are temporary and that you may want to explore other liposuction alternatives.

Body wraps will help you to lose the weight and inches, but it should be noted that this reduction will be temporary and then the at home treatment will need to be redone. Body wraps are great for both men and women and thankfully body wraps are simple enough to do that even a teenager can apply them. A simple yet good way to start the base of a wrap is with a mixture of clay and natural sea salts. Once you get the base down, you can add more natural ingredients like herbs and essential oils.

Here’s a list of recommended herbs and herbal extracts:
•    Lemon thyme
•    Alfalfa leaf powder
•    Rose hip powder, rose petal powder
•    Dried chamomile flowers
•    Ground basil

Here’s a list of recommended Essential Oils:
•    Lavender
•    Lemongrass
•    Eucalyptus
•    Grapefruit
•    Orange peel
•    Sandalwood
•    Sage
•    Rosemary
•    Olive oil
•    Lemon

Research your herbs and build your knowledge in herbology. Based on your research, you’ll have a better idea of what herbs and essential oils you might like to use in your wraps. It is important to take a warm bath before beginning the body wrap. To prepare a simple base recipe, use the following:
1 cup green clay
1/4 cup sea salt
2 Tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
2 cups of purified water

Bring water to a boil and add the sea salt. Reduce heat and wait until salt is completely dissolved. Add the remaining ingredients and stir. Simmer for several minutes until wrap paste is a suitable consistency.

Let the paste cool so that it’s warm to the touch. Rub the mixture over your entire body and cover yourself with thin towels or a clean white sheet. Most salons will recommend that you use proper wrapping sheets as the compaction helps to squeeze the tissues together for greater results.

Lay in the tub for a minimum of 45 minutes to an hour.  After the body wrap, apply moisturizer and then cover yourself with a plastic sheet for ten minutes.  After the ten minutes, take a cool shower to refresh your entire body.
There are additional ways to detox your body that are very inexpensive and easy to do in your home.  Here is a very easy recipe:

Bath Detox Using Epsom Salts

1 cup of Epsom salts
1 cup of sea salts
1 cup of baking soda

Mix all the ingredients together and place in a sealed jar. Fill the bathtub with water as hot as you can stand and add in 1/4 cup of the Epsom salts mixture. Relax in the bathtub for 30 minutes and then wrap yourself in a warm blanket for approximately 20 minutes more. This will draw out the toxins from your system and leave your body feeling refreshed.

Body wraps do not simply absorb the body’s excess water weight and thus remove inches; they also flush out harmful toxins and cellulite, making the general appearance of the skin more healthy and young. It is possible to lose as many as 2 inches from one wrap session.  Just keep in mind that these results are temporary.

Longer term weight loss benefits can be obtained by using other liposuction alternatives. Liposuction doesn’t have to be the answer to your weight loss.
